Styles For Your Wedding

Selecting the style of tuxedos for your wedding will depend upon your ceremony's time of day. Here are a few guidelines, but it's really your choice.

Daytime Wedding Tuxedo Fashion
Ultra Formal - Grey or black cuatay, any black tuxedo or tailcoat

Formal - Stroller or any tuxedo including black, white or ivory.

Informal - Suit or blazer

Evening Wedding Tuxedo Fashion
Ultra Formal - Black tailcoat with white vest and bowtie

Formal - Black tuxedo or any other color depending upon season

Informal - Suit or blazer

Colors - Black is by far the most common tuxedo followed by grey, white, ivory, navy and fashion colors.

Let the groom stand out by putting on a different tuxedo than the groomsmen or choosing a fashion vest that will give him a distinct look.

Rent a second vest, wear one for the ceremony and a fun party vest for the reception.

Lapels - Choose contemporary notch, traditional peak or rounded shawl

Trousers - For formal daytime and if you opt for the cutaway, the striped hickory trouser will compliment the jacket.

Black trousers are available in non-pleated (flat front) and double pleated.

Trousers for: grey, white, ivory, and colored tuxedos will usually match the jacket and are usually pleated.

Shirts - If the brides's gown is white all of the men's tuxedo shirts should also be white, but if the bride is wearing off-white or ivory, the shirts should be the same.

There are many new styles to choose from along with the old favorites: wingtip and lay down collar. On the fashion forefront is the Windsor knot or Euro neckties worn with wingtip or lay down collar and the mandarin collar shirt worn with a button cover instead of a bowtie.

Many weddings will color coordinate dress colors with the vest or a cummerbund and bowtie.

A vest or cummerbund in a darker or brighter color will bring out the color in the bridesmaids' dresses and will result in fabulous photographs.

Vests - Backless or fullback?

Backless as the name implies is adjustable and can be raised or lowered to adjust to the wearer's build; also adjustable at the waist.

Fullback vests are only adjustable at the waist and can pose a problem for very tall men or men with a larger front than others.

"Easy-Fit Tuxedo" service for the out of town groomsmen in your wedding. Every wedding has to deal with groomsmen needing a tuxedo at the wedding location, but they live far away. Simply print off the "Easy-Fit" form, send it to the groomsmen, they in turn can get a customary fitting at any tuxedo store or men's apparel store where they live and in turn the groomsman can send us his sizes. We make up a tuxedo in sizes given and when he comes into town he can try it on and we can make corrections on the spot, if necessary.
